The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday aided 14 locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the alleged manipulation of the Accounts Assistant recruitment examination conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).
The agency booked 20 people, including members of the JKSSB.
Those accused in the case are Dr Karnail Singh, , former BSF Paloura Frontier Headquarters Medical Officer, former ASI in the J&K Police Ashok Kumar, teacher Roshan Bral, MeritTrac Services Private Limited, Bengaluru, Neelam Khajuria, JK Administrative Service and then Member, JKSSB, Anju Raina.
Former Section JKSSB Officer, Mukta Devi, Lakshmi Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Shubam Patyar, Manisha Kumari, Avinash Sharma, Bandana Sharma, Gurjeet Kour, Bandana Choudhary, Rajinder Makhnotra, Gurpreet Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Harpal Singh and unknown officials and others have also been named as accused in the case.
“The report of the inquiry committee revealed the alleged conspiracy amongst officials of JKSSB, a private company based in Bengaluru, beneficiary candidates and others causing gross irregularities in conduct of the examination,” said a CBI official, who did not wish to be identified. It has been alleged that a high percentage of candidates from the districts of Jammu, Kathua and Reasi were selected, the question paper was leaked, and the JKSSB violated rules in assigning the task of setting question paper to a Bengaluru-based private company and committed forgery as well.
